Gene & Georgetti, Chicago’s original steakhouse since 1941 has implemented an immediate response plan amidst rising concerns of the spread of COVID-19.

During this time of international uncertainty, third generation principal Michelle Durpetti – along with her parents Tony and Marion Durpetti and husband Collin Pierson– issued a statement earlier this week emphasizing their concern for the wellbeing of their patrons, employees and family members in Italy as well as reassuring guests of the long-standing and increased safety precautions being taken onsite.

While the first location of legendary steakhouse in Chicago’s downtown River North neighborhood nears its grand reopening after a devastating kitchen fire last fall, Gene & Georgetti’s dining room and private event spaces remain open for business in Rosemont. However, recognizing the realities of growing concerns over COVID-19, the Durpetti family has worked quickly to present new offerings to create both convenience and ease for its guests – many of whom face new challenges to their schedules with work and school closures, cancelled spring break trips, depleting foodstuffs/supplies at local supermarkets or even exposure to the virus.

Effective today, Gene & Georgetti announces:

1. Increased doorstop delivery range. In partnership with delivery service DoorDash, Gene & Georgetti Rose has increased its delivery footprint from 7 to 12 miles, which has the potential to reach hundreds of thousands of additional area residents who wish to order in. The restaurant will also be available via GrubHub soon.

2. Curbside pick-up. Orders of any sized placed by phone at (847) 653-3300 are available for curbside pickup. Guests can simply pull up, present their order number and their items will arrive safely packaged and be loaded into their car with white glove service.

4. Incentive. For every $100 spent, guests will receive a $25 gift card to utilize at Gene & Georgetti for future delivery/curbside orders or dining in the restaurant. Guests can also purchase gift cards online beginning Monday, March 16. With no expiration date, the Durpetti family plans to welcome guests back to the iconic restaurant for a long time to come. The give-back is just one way to thank guests for their continued loyalty and support.
