Festa della Repubblica Celebration in Chicago 2025

At Gene & Georgetti, we are deeply honored to have been included in the recent Festa della Repubblica celebration, hosted by the Italian Consulate in Chicago and beautifully covered by Fra Noi.

This year’s event, held on June 9 at the Chicago History Museum, welcomed more than 450 leaders from across the U.S. and Italy. It was a spectacular evening filled with Italian culture, cuisine, music, and community — a true testament to the strong ties between Italy and Chicago.

The celebration was led by Consul General Mario Bartoli, who was joined by dignitaries including Senator Francesca La Marca and Deputy Christian Diego Di Sanzo. Guests enjoyed a vibrant evening featuring food, music, and special presentations that showcased the pride and tradition of Italy.

We are especially proud to share that our very own Michelle Durpetti, owner of Gene & Georgetti and Michelle Durpetti Events, was bestowed the honor of Cavaliere during the evening. This recognition reflects her tireless dedication to Chicago’s Italian American community, her leadership, and her contributions to strengthening cultural and civic ties.

The Festa was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Italian Consulate, Istituto Italiano di Cultura, Italian Trade Agency, Italian National Tourist Board, and the Italian American Chamber of Commerce Chicago-Midwest, along with the support of sponsors and partners including Gene & Georgetti.

Being part of this extraordinary evening was not only a privilege but also a celebration of the values that inspire us every day: tradition, community, and excellence.
