A Legacy of Giving: Celebrating Italian American Scholars in Tony Durpetti’s Name

As part of Gene & Georgetti’s ongoing commitment to honoring Italian American heritage and supporting education, we were proud to sponsor a 2025 scholarship in the name of Tony Durpetti – beloved patriarch, proud Italian American, and guiding force behind our family-owned restaurant.

The scholarship was presented in partnership with SADIA (Sons and Daughters of Italy in America) during their annual Scholarship Celebration, a meaningful event that brings together community leaders, families, and young achievers who are carrying forward the values of tradition, culture, and academic excellence.

Held at the Mazzini-Verdi Club in Chicago, the celebration welcomed over 100 guests and highlighted the powerful impact of education and heritage. It was a moving evening filled with stories from the recipients about how their Italian roots continue to shape who they are and inspire their future goals.

Gene & Georgetti extends sincere congratulations to the 2025 scholarship recipients and their families. These students are not only academically accomplished but also deeply connected to their culture – embodying the very best of the Italian American community.

We also wish to acknowledge and thank the SADIA Executive Board, Executive Committee, and Scholarship Committee for their dedication in coordinating the event and carefully selecting the recipients. We sincerely thank our fellow scholarship sponsors for their commitment and support in advancing this impactful community initiative.

Gratitude also goes to Francine D’Amico, Media Coordinator for SADIA, who beautifully documented the event.

This sponsorship reflects Gene & Georgetti’s mission of giving back to the community, preserving Italian American legacy, and investing in the next generation of leaders. For our team, this is more than just supporting a scholarship – it is a celebration of values, culture, and the deep roots that connect us all.

Congratulazioni to this year’s recipients. The future of our Italian American community is bright – and in good hands! And we are honored to support it.
