Every room tells a story here. Our Library (which is also available for private events) was the room completely restored after our fire in 2019. Thankfully the photos and memorabilia were not all damaged as this room tells the story of the family’s equestrian family members!
All the black + white photographs on the walls were taken by our very own Collin Pierson of the family’s beloved horses. Memories from throughout barn life including awards, old helmets and more can be found here. It’s a great space for an intimate corporate lunch, rehearsal dinner, birthday celebration and more. ✨
Fun fact: the mantle was originally in the Burnham Mansion in Champaign, IL. Sadly in 2018, the 134-year-old building was demolished to make way for expansion.
It was designed in the Queen Anne style by the Chicago architectural firm of Burnham and Root. The firm was founded by the noted 19th-century architect Daniel Burnham, who is remembered for several Chicago skyscrapers, New York’s Flatiron Building, and ambitious master plans for Chicago and several other major cities. We are thrilled to have been able to preserve a small piece of Illinois & Chicago history for safekeeping right here in our library.
