Five years ago, we opened our second location in the Village of Rosemont. Gene & Georgetti Rosemont was a restaurant and event space, particularly vulnerable to the effects of COVID-19 because the large banquet facility has been largely unusable during the pandemic. Sadly, our landlord has given us notice that we must vacate the property by November 4. We had hoped to stay open through the holidays, giving our wonderful employees an opportunity to earn more income and our loyal customers the opportunity to enjoy a last meal before we are forced to close. Instead we will be welcoming you until October 31st. We are devastated that the Village of Rosemont was unwilling to work with us during a time when so many restaurants are struggling due to the impact of COVID-19 on our entire industry.
To the couples who put down deposits for 2020 weddings, which had already been rescheduled to 2021, please know that, even though the restaurant won’t be able to refund your deposit due to lost revenue during the pandemic, the Durpetti family will personally refund those deposits, because it’s simply the right thing to do, and we know that this has already been a difficult time for you.
These are challenging times for the restaurant industry. Thank you to our supportive investors, our wonderful customers, to the couples who have given us a five-star rating for five years-in-a-row. To our vendors, and most heartfelt thanks to our team who made this all possible. Your hard work shined especially bright in these recent months with the global COVID-19 pandemic. We are heartbroken at the loss of this location, which is very much a member of our family, and we look forward to welcoming you all between today and our last day of service on Saturday, October 31st for wonderful food and celebration of all we have accomplished together. We hope to see you at our Chicago location in the future, which remains open. Thank you.
