In August, our team at Gene & Georgetti hosted our second class in our Classic Cocktails Series. This time, we explored the quintessential martini. Whether shaken or stirred, a great martini is a matter of personal taste.

Our downtown Chicago restaurant team hosted a private dining group who explored the tastes of a gin or vodka base, served dry, wet or perfect, on the rocks, neat or straight up. The final touch? Drop-in a deliciously salty olive, or a refreshing lemon twist. After learning how to make a traditional martini, we switched over to a light and summery Rosé martini, featuring a splash of rosé wine stirred with a rosé grapefruit vodka.

After cocktail hour and passed appetizers including calamari and bruschetta, our group sat for a steak dinner and tasted the difference between wet-aged and dry-aged cuts, while also feasting on Gene & Georgetti signature menu items.
