From June 4th-8th, celebrate Negroni Week with Gene & Georgetti at both our Downtown and Rosemont locations! Enjoy the classic version or a selection of cocktails inspired by the timeless favorite.

Created in Florence circa 1919 at Bar Casoni, upon request of Nobleman Count Camillo Negroni (a story still disputed to this day), the Negroni is the quintessential Italian cocktail that has stood the test of time. An equal parts cocktail where the Gin-Vermouth pairing complements the bitter and bold flavors of the Amaro, enjoy the Negroni or one of its many inspirations.

Gin, Amaro, Sweet Vermouth

Swap the gin for soda water
Actually older than the Negroni itself.
(Also the first Cocktail
ever mentioned in the James Bond Novels.)

Broken Negroni (AKA Sbagliato)
Swap the gin for prosecco
(In 1972 at Bar Basso in Milan, sparkling wine was added to a Negroni
by mistake, anda spin-off favorite was created.)

Swap the gin for bourbon
(The bittersweet interplay between Amaro and Vermouth
remain, but the bourbon changes the storyline)

Negroni Fizz
Add lemon, sugar, and soda
(A delicious, refreshing, and lighter twist on the classic)

“The bitters are excellent for your liver, the gin is bad for you. They balance each other.”
-Orson Welles
